Man with a Hat

A musician sat for our group today and kindly brought his guitar and held it the whole time.  I was too interested in painting his head, but it would have been fun to get more of the figure and include the guitar.    This was the last group portrait session at Dryden Gallery for the summer.  Time to get outdoors and paint landscapes.

"Reality leaves a lot to the imagination." John Lennon

Smiley

What a happy guy! This model smiled slightly the entire session.   Such a unique opportunity and a little unnerving if I'm being honest - I was half expecting him to stop smiling at any time.

Woman with Pink Turban

This is another from the Tuesday portrait group sessions with Kate Huntington now held at the Dryden Gallery at Providence Picture Frame.   This woman had such lovely bone structure and was so stunning I felt pressure to do justice to her natural beauty.   Her entire outfit was great so I had a hard time deciding whether to focus on a facial portrait or a full figure portrait.
